Yiwan is another left point break in Taitung that does a good job of blocking northeast winds. This wave often provides long walls breaking at just the right speed for carving turns and the occasional cover-up. When conditions align, hundred-meter runners are common, making it an excellent spot for refining your turns and carves.

On bigger days, be careful of the strong rip created by the rivermouth, as well as the rock bottom. Note that this spot is not for beginners, and you should be surf-fit to surf here on bigger days!
