Restaurants (a.k.a. “Wedding Park,” a.k.a. “Green Ball”) is Taiwan’s northernmost surf spot. It is also one of Taiwan’s best and longest right-handers, producing decent barrels on the right swell. The wave is best after a typhoon passes Taiwan and heads north towards Japan.
Tides play a big role here, so it’s good to refer to tide charts and/or local knowledge. The best time to surf is about two hours before high tide. When the tide is too high, the wave will disappear.
Getting into the water and out to the lineup can be challenging, as you need to ascend a cliff and jump into the water over a shallow reef. Restaurants is for experienced surfers only.
