Fulong is a fairly exposed beach break which has a nice sandbar buildup from the outflow of the Shuang River. There are two beaches at Fulong, but the best surfing spot is next to the temple.
There is a left and a right here. The left is a short ride, but will take you right into the channel along the armour block, allowing you to easily paddle back to the lineup. On big days, the right can produce a long walling wave with a shapely face good for maneuvers. The occasional barrel can also be had.
Beware of the rip! On bigger days, less-experienced surfers or out-of-shape surfers can easily be swept out to sea. When the waves are bigger than 6 ft. here, you can expect a constant paddle session.
