Baxian Dong, a.k.a. Eight Immortals Cave, is a left-handed point break that is formed by an adjacent rivermouth. When other nearby spots are blown out by the northeast monsoon, there is usually a nice offshore wind here that grooms the left-handers. On bigger northeast swells durIng winter’s northeast monsoon, or during typhoon season, one of the best barreling lefts in Taiwan can form here!
Due to the boulders, the strong rips created by the rivermouth, and the brutal shorebreak, this spot is for more experienced surfers only. Be very careful getting in and out of the water at Baxian Dong!
