Baishawan is a crescent-shaped beach with beautiful golden sand and picturesque scenery. Nestled at the northern tip of Taiwan and oriented towards the north, it typically gets swell from the east and northeast, resulting in predominantly right-hand waves.
This beach break is ideal for beginners, offering more gentle waves perfect for those just starting their surfing journey. Longboarders will also find Baishawan an excellent spot to hone their skills. However, during the winter months, conditions can become more challenging due to the winter monsoon, which can often lead to blown-out and messy conditions.
Baishawan is well-equipped for surfers of all levels, with several surf shops and public facilities, including washrooms. This makes it a convenient and welcoming spot for those seeking a laid-back atmosphere with mellow waves. For more experienced surfers in search of a challenge, just northeast of Baishawan is "Restaurants," a right-hander that can produce barrels on the right swell.
